Ahmed Hegazi is currently a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology in the National Research Center, Egypt. Prof. Hegazi received his master’s degree in 1979 and his PhD in 1981. Hegazi's research work has been focused lately on bee products and their therapeutic effects. Hegazi organized and contributed to national and international research projects since 1977 and up till now; he has been the principal investigator on multiple research projects within the National Research Center. He has published 222 scientific papers and articles in national and international journals. He also served on the board of multiple national and international scientific journals. Dr. Hegazi is also the president of the Egyptian Environmental Society for Uses and Production of Bee Products, secretary of the Egyptian Society of Apitherapy, secretary general of the African Federation of Apiculture Associations, and a member of the International Apitherapy Commission (APIMONDIA)

Dr. Nassiri is a former Associate Dean of Global Health at the Michigan State University (MSU). He also served as MSU director of Institute of International Health. He is currently Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Professor of Family and Community Medicine, and, lecturer in Global Health, Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine. He currently works on international public health issues and has expertise in global health. He has made contributions in various fields of medical sciences including clinical investigation and health education. On the basis of his extensive experience and expertise in HIV/AIDS, TB and antimicrobial resistance, he developed clinical research programs in Brazil, South Africa, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Mexico. He had served as editorial board member for the journal of HIV and AIDS Review. He is currently on editorial board member for AIDS Patient Care and STDs. Prof. Nassiri has delivered seminar presentations on Tropical Medicine, HIV/AIDS, TB, Global Health and public health interventions in numerous national and international conferences and workshops. He is internationally recognized for his work in the areas of building effective international partnerships particularly in global health, community health, clinical care capacity building, and technical assistance mechanism. He is the founder of Michigan State University Osteopathic and Primary Health Clinic in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He has developed academic and research partnership programs with Federal University of Para Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belem, Brazil.

Dr. A C MATIN is Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Matin's laboratory studies improvment in prodrug cancer chemotherapy; genetic and protein engineering to improve biological processes, such as bioremediation; microbial biofilms; cellular resistance to antimicrobial agents; and microbial stress response. Recent progress of the laboratory is: The ChrR enzyme has been crystallized and new improved mutants were obtained by rational design. Magnetite genes were expressed in mammalian cells. PK/PD studies of CNOB/ChrR anticancer therapy were completed. A new paradigm was worked out of bacterial sensitivity to antibiotics. In collaboration with NASA (Moffett Field) a protocol was developed to test hypotheses for increased bacterial antibiotic resistance by microgavity during actual space flight on board a small satellite He is in the editorial board of five journals member and chair of several NIH review panels.

Mario A Bianchet received his Ph.D. from The University of La Plata, Argentine, and performed Postdoctoral studies at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he is now an Assistant Professor of Neurology since 2011. As structural enzymologist and expert in ligand recognition, he has participated in several seminal structural and mechanistic studies of macromolecules and ligand/macromolecule interactions of biomedical interest. He has significant contributions to different fields, including bioenergetics: F1-ATPase, xenobiotic-response: NADPH:Quinone oxidoreductases, DNA-repair: Uracyl-Glycosylase/inhibitors, carbohydrate-recognition: animal lectins, and late-stage cell-wall biosynthesis: LD-transpeptidases and their complexes with substrates and carbapenems.

My research aims to understand essential relations between macromolecules’ structure and their mechanisms of action in biological processes involved in human diseases. With that goal I am applying diverse techniques and methods including x-ray scattering and diffraction, as well as computer modeling and simulation to elucidate these relations that will have a direct impact on the understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of human diseases

Dr. Javier Del Pino is Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University Completeness of Madrid, Spain from 2016. He received his PharmD degree at the University Completeness University of Madrid in 2004. He has two Masters in Sciences 2009 and 2010. He worked in Institute of Health Carlos III in the National Center of Environmental Health. From 2010 to 2012 he was an Associated Researcher at University of Massachusetts (UMASS) working in Sandra Petersen´s Lab in a National Institute of Health (NIH) project on developmental effects of TCDD endocrine disruptor on sexual differentiation. He specialized in neurotoxicology and neurodevelopmental toxicology and received his Ph.D. in Toxicology in 2009. He is a member and Manager of the Completeness University’s Research Team EcoBioTox. He is a co-author of several publications on toxicology and environmental journals and participated as a co-author of toxicology Book´s chapters.

Dr. Del Pino research focuses on the evaluation of the effects of environmental pollutants in the development of neurodegenerative diseases. His area of expertise is neurotoxicology, cytotoxicity, and toxicogenomics since his research deepens into the toxic effects of metals and biocides that induce cognitive disorders and other neurodegenerative processes both at cellular and tissue level, studying the molecular mechanisms involved in these effects. He takes a special interest in the genomic toxic effects that metals and biocides produce and the levels from which these effects are produced, all related to the safety evaluation of these compounds.

Dr. Paula Moyano received his JD degree at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2013. She has worked in the University of Massachusetts’ Students Legal Services Office while living in Massachusetts in 2011. She received a Masters in Pedagogical Sciences in 2017. She specialized in neurotoxicology and legal sciences and received his Ph.D. in Toxicology and legal medicine in 2016. She is a member of the Complutense University’s Research Team EcoBioTox. She is a co-author of several publications on toxicology and environmental journals and participated as a co-author of two chapters of the book Thyroid Toxicity.

Dr. Moyano research focuses on the evaluation of the effects of environmental pollutants in the development of neurodegenerative diseases. Her area of expertise is toxicogenomics since her research looks into the toxic effects at genomic levels of persistent environmental chemicals and pollutants, and regulatory toxicology, since her interest lies in promoting changes at the regulatory level of the maximum allowed levels of exposure to the substances that she studies.

Tejani-Butt teaches courses in central nervous system physiology and pharmacology, special topics in Neuropsychopharmacology, endocrine physiology and pharmacology and drug-receptor interactions. She is a member of many national and local organizations, including the Society for Neuroscience, World Women in Neuroscience, and served on NIH expert panel of Grant study section for several years. She has been the recipient of extramural funding from NIH, foundations and pharmaceutical companies for the past 25 years.

Amr Amin is a Professor of Cell & Molecular Biology and a graduate faculty at UAE University. He earned his PhD in Cell & Developmental Biology from University of Illinois at Chicago and received a postdoctoral training in Molecular Genetics at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. After joining UAEU, Dr. Amin’s focus was redirected to the field of preventive medicine. His lab is interested in natural product-based protection against cancer. Most recently, his lab has been employing non-invasive approaches and nanoparticles to learn more about the molecular aspects of chemoprevention particularly against liver cancer. He published many research articles, reviews and book chapters in reputable journals. He also serves on the editorial boards and as a reviewer of many international journals. Dr. Amin is also the recipient of many national and international awards.

Karen Mulkijanyan is the Head of the Department of Pharmacology at Tbilisi State Medical University Institute of Pharmacochemistry and Adviser on Technology Commercialization to aforesaid Institute’s Administration. He obtained his MS in Biochemistry in 1981 and PhD in Pharmacy in 2005. Dr. Mulkijanyan’s research interests include studying the pharmacology of anti-inflammatory and wound healing drugs and analysis and prediction of structure-activity relationship of natural, modified and synthesized compounds. He is the author and co-author of more than 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals, about 30 presentations at international scientific meetings, and 2 patents.
